Apoorve Tomer is a Co-Founder of Viksit Bharat Research Lab, bringing experience across software development, public utility operations, smart metering, and large-scale data systems. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Engineering at IIT Kanpur (2022-Present), with analytical training in strategy, optimization and decision modeling.
He has served as Assistant Engineer at Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited since March 2017, where he has worked on technology-led monitoring of electricity distribution operations covering over 40 million consumers, developed dashboards for smart metering and revenue monitoring, and supported data-driven analysis of distribution efficiency and operational bottlenecks. Earlier, he worked as a Software Developer at Cisco Systems (2014-2015), developing backend components for networking and switching systems.
He holds an M.Tech in Information Technology from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bengaluru (2012-2014) and a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from UIET Kanpur (2008-2012).
